What is Liner?
Liner or lining refers to an additional layer of fabric sewn to the back of curtains or shades.
properties, protect the fabric, and improve aesthetics. It is an added value to both the practicality and appearance of the curtain.
Core Functions
- Enhance light shading and heat insulation: The light shading rate of pure curtains is usually 30%-60%, which can be increased to 80%-100% after adding a lining, capable of completely blocking sunlight. At the same time, it reduces the transfer of outdoor heat into the room or the loss of indoor cold air, making the room temperature more stable.
- Protect curtain fabrics: Prevent the outer layer of the curtain from being directly exposed to direct sunlight, delay fabric fading, aging and yellowing, and extend the service life.
- Optimize appearance and drape: Make the curtains as a whole more neat and have better drape, avoiding the problems of single-layer curtains appearing thin and having messy wrinkles after light transmission, and looking cleaner and more beautiful from both inside and outside the room.
- Assist in sound insulation and privacy protection: Increase the thickness of the curtains, which can slightly absorb environmental noise, and at the same time prevent the leakage of indoor conditions caused by light transmission through single-layer curtains, improving privacy.
Note: Liners for curtains are typically not hemmed to the extreme bottom and sides.
To prevent unwanted light from sneaking in through any gaps, consider a puddled length (where the curtains extend beyond the floor) and a wider width (extending beyond the window frame on both sides).
